DAB+ (Digital Audio Broadcasting) digital radio is a global standard for the digital transmission. Digital radio is broadcast over the air. In the medium term, digital radio will replace FM reception. To listen to digital radio stations, you do not need a cable connection or a satellite dish, just a DAB+ radio with an aerial.
DAB+ also allows the transmission of data such as CD covers, weather maps and football results. This requires a DAB+ radio with a colour display. In additional to digital radio stations, DAB+ radios also receive all of the FM stations that are available in your region.
Switzerland's digital radio network now matches the FM network in terms of reach, offering 99% coverage outdoors and for car radios, and over 90% coverage indoors.
